iA Writer’s formatting bar

You can display a formatting bar at the bottom of an iA Writer window. This allows you to add formatting syntax at the caret location, or around selected text, with a click. It also shows the formatting applied to text at the caret.

Open iA Writer

Show the Format Bar

In iA Writer, select View ➤ Show Format Bar.

Hide the Format Bar

In iA Writer, select View ➤ Hide Format Bar.

Note that the formatting bar will fade out with the rest of the window chrome as you start typing. Move the pointer over the top or bottom of the document to reveal it again.
